Peril of the Mystery Ship

I tried out Rattrap Productions Fantastic Worlds game last weekend.  It is a rockets and rayguns type sci-fi miniatures game that uses less than five miniatures per side: thats a good thing, a lot more achievable in terms of painting etc than the more standard paint-fifty-miniatures-before-you-can-start affair.

I used a sheet of clear polycarbonate with a grid marked out on it so as to avoid all of the usual tape measure shenanigans.  I causes a bit of a glare in some of the shots.

Stig and theGuard Captain swash and buckle. Naturally this results mainly in a theatrically torn uniform for Stig.
Enjoying the limelight (camera flash) Stig absconds with his high maintenance charge while Vidal watches on impotently.

Epic Power Rangers and Daidenjin.

Go!

"Go!"

6mm scale Power Rangers for use in kaiju/tokusatsu games.  They are made from GW Epic scale Space Marine scouts.  The white chest pieces may have been a bit of a mistake (they look like they might be wearing sports bras) but, whatever.  I really must make a set of them on motorcycles.

Below they can be seen with their old school Daidenjin Megazord from Electronic Squadron Denjiman (Denshi Sentai Denjiman).  I think that “Daidenjin” means “Giant electric man” in Japanese.  ESD was the first Sentai show to feature a transforming robot.

Epic emergency services and Mechagodzilla.

Motorcycle cops and Fire trucks.

Tiny bike cops and firefighters, made from GW epic bits and pieces mostly.  I like these, the bikes in particular.

Here they are in comparison with Mechagodzilla.

Epic heroes, crowds and Gamera.

Some Heroes, Villains and Objectives for Kaiju games. Left to right they are a Damsel (think Fay Wray), a little boy (think Gamera movies), a couple of square jawed super heroic types and an evil, bionic armed Colonel Catastrophe guy.

Here they are next to Gamera.

Blood Apes

Toto - Blood Ape Chosen

Toto - Blood Ape Chosen

Blood Apes

Blood Apes

Blood Apes from the Altar of Despair expansion to the Descent: Journeys in the Dark.  They arent great miniatures by any means but they are reasonably big and pretty versatile as giant albino apes with short arms go I suppose.

Toto is a Reaper miniature that is intended to be used as a leader model.  All of the Blood Apes are quite suitable for use in a sci-fi game either: just the sort of thing that might jump out of the bushes to attack an Away Team I think.

Necromunda Zombies

Post Apocalyptic Zombie

Post Apocalyptic Zombie

Sci-Fi Zombie

Sci-Fi Zombie

A couple of Necromunda zombies that I painted back in the late ’90s.  A quick scheme, nothing fancy.  I like that the second guy is wearing a watch.

Radioactive Zombies, Zombie Dogs, R.E. Nosferatu

Radioactive

Radioactive

More zombie stuff for use in tabletop miniature games and Last Night on EarthRadioactive Zombie figures from the Horrorclix line.  The translucent green bodies are great.  I havent repainted these figures at all. I did re-base them.

Nosferatu

Nosferatu

Resident Evil: Code Veronica Nosferatu

The Nosferatu character in Resident Evil:Code Veronica looks like the illustration above.  My version was made from a Horroclix and some bits from the GW Chaos sprue.  It isnt an exact match by any means, but it captures the feel of the character well enough I think.  The paint job was very rushed and the dipping was a failed experiment but despite all of that I still kinda like it.

Zombie... Jack Russels

Zombie... Jack Russels

The above are the zombie dog miniatures from the Zombies!!! boardgame.  They are quite well sculpted an have a nice level of detail.  They are dirt cheap too: a bag of 100 cost under a €10.  The only down side is that they are a little bit small.  They are about the size of a collie or sheepdog or springer, rather than a RE doberman.  Still fine to represent urban or suburban zombie strays or whatever.  Incidentally, I should have taken photos of the dogs from the other side too.  The eye on the visible side is hanging out, the other side isnt.

Slightly more threatening undead hounds.

Slightly more threatening undead hounds.

More rebased Horrorclix.  I might get around to repainting bits of theses guys some day.  Then again, I may just leave them as they are.

Crows

Undead Birds. Annoying.

Undead Birds. Annoying.

A batch of crow models, mounted on little terrain pieces due to their small size.  They are intended for use in Last Night on Earth and other zombie games although they should be useful to mark out other game effects too.

P-Type Tyrant

Tyrant P-Type Stage 1

Tyrant P-Type Stage 2

Tyrant P-Type Stage 2

Tyrant P-Type Stage 3

Tyrant P-Type Stage 3

Three stages of the development of a Resident Evil tyrant.  The figures are intended for use in Last Night on Earth or in anything that requires a super-zombie.  When the stage one gets nailed rampant mutation turns it into the stage two and so on.

The first figure is an old GW Titan Princeps.  Stage two is a modified Heroclix Hulk.  Stage three is a Hellknight from Doom:the Boardgame.
