Peril of the Mystery Ship

 

I tried out Rattrap Productions Fantastic Worlds game last weekend.  It is a rockets and rayguns type sci-fi miniatures game that uses less than five miniatures per side: thats a good thing, a lot more achievable in terms of painting etc than the more standard paint-fifty-miniatures-before-you-can-start affair. 

I used a sheet of clear polycarbonate with a grid marked out on it so as to avoid all of the usual tape measure shenanigans.  I causes a bit of a glare in some of the shots.

SPD Rangers Stig Palomino and Quentin Quantum race Vidal the Violator and his minions to the crashed shuttle.

The Captain of the Royal Guard attempts to delay the departure of the SPD along with Queen Vindicta, the survivor of the crash (and Vidals better half).

Enjoying the limelight (camera flash) Stig absconds with his high maintenance charge while Vidal pleads with her. "Please come home!" he says. "It will be different this time!" Needless to say, she ignores him.

In contrast with DR3B-N, “Spork” is a highly valued member of the patrol. His vast data libraries have proven instrumental in the resolution of many SPD cases.

DR3B-N is a clean up ‘bot. Although a very useful member of the team he engages in the least glamourous jobs: taking statements, collecting forensic evidence etc. Although highly skilled at his job DR3B-N is somewhat taken for granted.

Zarflax (“Zax” to his friends) was expelled from the royal court of his homeworld, where he had spent his whole life in luxury. Although of a brooding nature and filled with a desire for vengeance against his uncle Vidal, he has been accepted into SPD as a comrade. Skilled in one-to-one dueling techniques he longs to to get vengeance for the betrayal that has besmirched his family name.
